Not the year I’d planned

This year has thrown me some curveballs that made me question everything I thought I knew about my path.

As we approach the end of Q3, it’s definitely not the year I had planned when I sat down with my business mentor, back in January and excitedly shared my 2024 vision.

Adversity has a strange way of forcing clarity.

The unexpected roadblocks have a way of revealing the path forward, even if it’s not the one you originally planned.

Every setback has given me the clarity I didn’t know I needed.

Turns out that there’s something even better ahead.

It’s funny how the biggest challenges you encounter, have a way of showing you exactly what you’re made of and what you’re here to do.

Adversity isn’t a roadblock. It’s a realignment.

A wake-up call that you’re meant for more.

And when you can turn what might feel like your worst day, into your best day..

Well, that’s the true measure of success.

We talked about some of this during last week’s retreat. We talk candidly on retreats – and what happens there, stays there. So I won’t get into specifics, but I want to share this with you:

You’ll be pulled in what feels like a million different directions.

You’ll doubt yourself, your vision and want to burn your business to the ground.

Some days, it’ll feel like the rug has been pulled from beneath you.

Other days, you’ll feel completely aligned with your mission, totally on fire and unstoppable.

One day you’ll wake up with all the confidence in the world….

and the next, you’ll do everything in your beautiful human power to avoid the work you need to do.

You might find yourself surrounded by hundreds of clients, yet still crave a deeper connection.

You might have moments where you’ve scaled to the top of the mountain and you’re looking down across beautiful crystal clear lakes and pine forests, with the deepest satisfaction imaginable.

…and then there are days when the mountain is too steep, so you turn back and scroll mindlessly on instagram for several hours instead.

From the outside, it may look like you’ve got it together.

Yet on the inside, you might feel like everything’s falling apart.

Or the opposite;

inside you’re calm and grounded, channelling your inner Beyonce, though everything on the outside is chaotic and burning like a bush fire.

Some months will be your best,

others your worst.

You’ll have clients that feel like soulmates and others you’ll never understand, no matter how hard you try.

You might invest in support only to find it crumbling overnight, leaving you exposed and disappointed.

You might blame others when the truth is you need to hold yourself accountable.

Or maybe the opposite is true – perhaps the person you wanted support from, let you down?

That trusted advisor we all need is hard to find.

We all need a sounding board, a thought partner, a person who isn’t afraid to call us out, a partner in crime, an accountability buddy, a person who cheerleads us unconditionally and picks us up when we fall.

If you find yours, make sure you hold onto them.

It’s an honour to have this role for so many of my clients.

Every entrepreneur worth their salt has had times like this. This is normal.

Some days are hard, some are average and some are out of this world.

What makes the difference is your ability to show up for yourself, especially on the hard days.

Not everyone is cut out for the mission of entrepreneurship.

The fork in the road.

Do you turn left or right?

Do you make it harder or easier for yourself?

Do you step forward into discomfort

or retreat into safety?

Do you believe in yourself enough to keep moving forward, even when your back is up against the wall?

I know my own answers…

I know what I want;

And I trust implicitly that I’m headed in the right direction.

I trust myself. And I know that with the right support, you can trust yourself too.

I strive to be a solid person for my clients.

So they have the energy, strategy and resilience to keep moving forward.

I’ve never been clearer about my vision for the future or what I’m capable of.

And what my clients are capable of too.

I want you to know;

I’m building something huge – a movement on a global scale and I haven’t shared this so openly, until now.

But it’s time.

It’s already happening.
